Seafood from Vietnam exports to CPTPP member countries increased by 15%

According to the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam, the number of other 10 member countries of Vietnamese seafood exports has increased significantly since the entry into force of the Pan-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP).

According to data from the Agricultural Processing and Market Development Bureau of the Ministry of Agriculture of Vietnam, in the first four months of this year, Vietnamese seafood exports increased by nearly 15% year-on-year to US$ 502 million.

At present, Vietnam’s export growth to many markets around the world has slowed down.

However, as far as CPTPP members are concerned, Vietnamese seafood exports to Mexico increased by 35.6%, exports to Malaysia increased by nearly 22%, and exports to Canada increased by nearly 14%.

The Pan-Pacific Partnership Agreement (CPTPP), also known as TPP11 or TPP-11, is a trade agreement between Australia, Brunei, Canada, Chile, Japan, Malaysia, Mexico, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore and Vietnam.

Another member of Japan is still the largest importer of Vietnamese seafood.

According to the seafood company, CPTPP reduced or eliminated tariffs on many seafood products, helping to increase their exports to member countries.
